"K"is parcham kay saey talay hum aik hen..??

"Is parcham kay saey talay hum aik hen,
Sanjhi apni khushiyan aur gham aik hen hum aik hen"

A very beautiful phrase from one of our national songs very often sung and seldom followed..."hum aik hen" remains a question still even after the marvellous procession by Tehreek e Insaf at Mazar e Quaid..People not only from Karachi but also from other cities joined the jalsa with sky scraping hopes and expectations from the person because of whom we were victorious in 1992 world cup and the person who was a dominant helper of flood victims of our country..
However, the question remains...was the procession just an excitement specially for the youth or it could really bring a change and revoultion in this country as it claims??Was the jalsa to promote development in Pakistan or to promote Tehreek e Insaf and Imran khan??If it was for the improvement of our country then what was the ideology behind this sentence of Imran Khan when he tagetted Nawaz Sharif and said:

"Nawaz Sharif sahab, zara jaldi match kalen, kahin aisa na ho aap ko team he na miley"

What was the reason behind this statement by him:

"Aik aur wicket girnay jarhe hai..Sardar asif ali hmaray sath hongay jald"

What does he mean by saying aik aur wicket girnay wali hai??is he starting another game in our country like the other politicians who have been playing games against each other since always in the lust of defeating eachother??Why is there so much thrill around when a renowned politician joins PTI??Does Imran Khan want to increase his followers and expand his party or he wants to work for our betterment??if he wants to work for our betterment then why is he trying to increase his party members??Wern't Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Jawaid Hashmi always against each other??How can you exect a peaceful environment in PTI when there are two past rivals now together in the same party??Imran Khan has worked alone in the past for our country and he has worked well..He was able to collect crores of rupes for the flood victims...Why sowing corruption seeds in his party by adding other politicians??

If Pakistan and not his party is his priority then why were only few Pakistani flags were seen in the jalsa as compared to the thousands of PTI flags??Are we united under PTI's flag or our nation's flag??if PTI dissolves then will we stop working for Pakistan??if the answer is no then a question for all the excited youth who took part in jalsa today..

If Pakistan and not PTI is a priority then why did we hear more slogans in the favour of PTI and why so less Pakistan Zindabad slogans??

If his main aim is the betterment of Pakistan then why were there slogans against Zardari??This was not an opposition jalsa..it was to promote developmental plans...then why anti zardari slogans...I am not here favouring Zardari but this wasnt an anti zardari campaign..people with positve attitude dont have to pollute the negative ones..Their abilities are enough to make them radiant..
Hazrat Ali has rightly siad:

"If you want to defeat your enemy, try to increase your abilities"

In a nutshell, I shall state that we have faced enough heart attacks from our politicians..We all are trusting (though I am not) imran khan blindly but there is no assurance that he will fulfil all of his promises except only his statements which have already convinced half of the nation..not to forget that we have been hearing these types of statements since ever and we ae habitual of seeing these promises getting broken.

"Friendship without self-interest is one of the rare and beautiful things of life."

Maliha: Can a friend be bad?
Junaid: No a friend cannot be bad..Either he is your friend or he is not..

These are the beautiful lines from the Pakistani drama "Daam" written by none other but the fabulous writer "Umera Ahmed"...Its a soap highlightening friendship, the sacrifice and dedication in friendship and its ups and downs..
Zara (the girl in black dress in the picture above) and Maliha (the girl in red) were the bestest friend since 7 years...People used to adore their friendship and wished they could have such a strong relation.Others used to be jealous that they were deprived of such strong friendship...Zara belonged to a lower class family with a dad and a brother who were almost jobless,an unmarried sister who used to run their house by working, a younger mentally retarded sister and a mother who was fedup of their family problems..Inspite of all these problems, Zara was a brilliant medical student and there was no such exam in which Zara was not the 1st position holder...Maliha on the other hand was always the runner up..Maliha lived in a well furnished and luxurious house..She belonged to a high class and an affordable family with her caring parents and a brother Junaid (the guy in middle), who after Zara was her bestest friend and was doing his specialization from abroad...There had always been an unnamed relation between Zara and Junaid..apart from Maliha as a connection between the two,Junaid and Zara secretly used to adore each other...Their secret revealed when Maliha recognised,in a part, the pendant Zara was wearing and which Maliha had spotted in Junaid's room once...when maliha had asked junaid why and for whom he had bought it, Junaid had replied that he just bought it because he liked it..On spotting the locket in zara's neck, Maliha felt down trudden and felt as if she had been kept in dark and Junaid and Zara had betrayed her by not telling her about their relationship...Junaid cleared to Maliha that he wanted to surprise her but Maliha wasnt convinced and this was the moment when there occured the first crack in the trio's friendship...Zara on the other had, busy in her sister's wedding had no clue what was going on..Only it was when Zara needed Rs 50,000 to get her father out of jail, who was arrested because he had  not paid his debt to someone...Expecting that her best friend Maliha would help her like she always did,Zara went to her with all her hopes. It was here when Maliha poured out all her anger which had been boiling inside her since she felt betrayed..

Maliha: You only come to me when you need any help or money..Seems that my friendship wasnt enough for you and you wanted my house and my brother.
Zara:I didnt tell you about the relationship between me and Junaid because I felt weird..I did not know how you would react..I always adored your house because it had all the respect and love within the family...I never had such beautiful love and respect in my poor house.
Maliha: Seven years I have paid for this friendship...Its time that you pay now..I will give you 50,000.But only at one cost...You will give me this pendant which Junaid had given you and you will not marry him..And you will never meet or talk to him and you will never come to my place again.

There was no other hope of 50,000 for Zara's family other than Maliha..Realizing this,Zara agreed and sacrificed her love...She sold her love and freed her father..On the other hand, Junaid, who had now left Pakistan was told that Zara had refused for marrying him for some reason...Maliha spoiled everything..The crack which had started earlier penetrated on and on and ate their friendship like moth...It was years later when Maliha realized what a mess she had made but nothing could be done then...she only apologized to Junaid and Zara for what she had done...Junaid would never talk to her again...There is more to this drama than what I have mentioned..

We all do come to such turns in our life when we ask our friends for something in return of what we have done for them...Friendship without need and just for the sake of friendship and only in the name of love and care is not possible in today's world...In a way Maliha was right when she complained that she should have known about what was going on between her brother and her best friend...I also do complain to my friends when they dont tell me what they are upto...Its not that I want to stay updated...its only a matter  of importance...if your friend thinks you are important for him or her,he or she will share with you every single scene of his life and every single thought and plan he has...The only difference is that Maliha went a bit too ahead in her anger and she regretted for all she had done later...Its true that there is nothing called a bad friend...But if we follow this line then we will be friendless because such extreme loving friends are rare in this world..Hazrat Ali has rightly said

"donot go on finding a perfect person in life..Perfect people donot exist and you will be left alone in the world"

Friendship is a precious possession...its ok if your friend does not share everything with you...you should be flexible enough to let small thing go rather than let go your friendship..because you should not expect every person to be just as you expect...If you are a very good friend that does not mean every other person will also be a good friend to you..Some people do fulfil your expectations but everyone cannot because God has created a variety of people with a variety of personalities...You cannot expect every other person to be of the nature you want..

"The Persuit Of HappYness"

When you get time and you are tired of watching stupid DON, exaggerated romance of twilight and the impossible adventures of mission impossible, do watch “The Pursuit of Hapyness”.Its an amazing piece of work.Truely practical, this movie is based on the true story of Chris Gardner who crosses the limits of hardwork to achieve his position as a stock broker. Its all about the zeal and dedication of this person who works day and night to get himself and his family out of nothingness.Wonderfully presented this movie has exposed how this person defeated all the “extreme” and “impossible to cross” hurdles and how he attains this sky-scraping position where now the world recognizes him. From the homeless, meal less and moneyless darkness of poverty, how this person works to his utmost to be able to afford all in life. This movie illustrates how apart from hardwork, our behavior is important in today’s world to move ahead and turn our dreams into reality. All the nerds around who think that just by hardwork they can win this world should learn from Chris Gardner who flexibly deals with all the people around him and helps them when he himself have an empty pocket…It’s a good lesson and moral for all those who are good at making excuses that they can’t compete because of the lack of resources. Few amazing lines from the movie which might inspire you are here:
·         “Hey. Don't ever let somebody tell you... You can't do something. Not even me. All right?”
·         “That maybe happiness is something that we can only pursue and maybe we can actually never have it.”
·         “Hey dad, you wanna hear something funny? There was a man, who was drowning, and a boat came, and the man on the boat said "Do you need help?" and the man said "God will save me". Then another boat came and he tried to help him, but he said "God will save me", then he drowned and went to Heaven. Then the man told God, "God, why didn't you save me?" and God said "I sent you two boats, you dummy!"
·         “The important thing about that freedom train, is it's got to climb mountains. "We ALL have to climb mountains”

Here is a brief review:
Chris Gardner invests his family's savings in bone-density scanners which he tries to  sell to doctors. The investment proves to be a failure which financially breaks him. While trying to sell one of his scanners, Chris meets a manager for Dean Witter and impresses him by solving a Rubik's Cube during a short cab ride. This new relationship with the Dean Witter manager earns him the chance to become an intern stockbroker.
Despite arriving there shabbily dressed due to an emergency, Chris is offered the internship. Chris is further set back when his bank account is garnished by the IRS for unpaid taxes, and he and his young son are evicted. As a result they are homeless. Motivation drives him to find the Glide Memorial United Methodist Church .Due to demand for the limited rooms, Chris must frantically race from his internship work early each afternoon in order to land a place in line.
Disadvantaged by his limited work hours, and knowing that maximizing his client contacts and profits is the only way to earn the one paid position that he and his 19 competitors are fighting for, Chris develops a number of ways to make phone sales calls more efficiently. He also reaches out to potential high value customers, defying protocol. Regardless of Chris's challenges, he never reveals his lowly circumstances to his co-workers, even going so far as to lend one of his bosses five dollars for a cab, a sum he can't afford.
Concluding his internship, Chris is called into a meeting with his managers. His work has paid off and he is offered the position.

"Yehe Hai Ebadat Yehi Deen o Eman, Ke Kaam Aey Dunya Men Insan Ke Insan"

So recently we had a session on BLS thats basic life support....Now for all those who dont know what BLS is:its a sequence of steps you perform to save life of a person when you are called to attend that unconscious person in emergency. The purpose of BLS is to maintain the vital signs of the person in normal state unless he is driven to hospital for proper treatment. The vital signs means breathing, temperature, blood pressure and pulse. In BLS we mainly concentrate on breathing and pulse because abnormality of these two cause fatality within seconds..Now what to do to ensure that the patient is breathing effectively..for this you must ensure whether the airway of that person is patent or not because unless the road is patent how would the cars reach their destination...similarly if the airway is not patent, air would not be able to reach the lungs...to maintain the airway you put an oxygen mask covering patient's nose and mouth. With your right hand hold the chin of the patient and pull it upwards and backwards..Put the other hand on the upper margin of the mask..Blow from your mouth into the opening of the mask..air from your mouth goes into the mask and through the patient's nose into his lungs.Give two breathes and then check the patient's chest...if it moves then it means air is reaching the lungs

mouth to mouth breathing when oxygen mask is not available

...now we come to pulse...on reaching the patient, check his pulse through your fingers at the side of his neck

...if no pulse then go for cardiac compressions...caridac compressions are manual compressions given by ur hand on patient's heart area to make the heart contract and relax so that pumping of blood by the heart is maintained..if this is not done, brain wont get any blood and he brain will suffer brain death....now how to give cardiac compressions:place the lower area of your right (only lower part  and not the whole palm) on patient's chest slightly below his left nipple...interdigitate ur left hand fingers with the already placed right hand fingers..Now compress the patinet's chest with your hands and then relax..repeat this for 30 times.

caridac compressions

I you summarise all of this, it will be as follows:
>You are called for help and you approach the unconscious patient. You tap his shoulders gently to check whetherhe responds or not.
>If not then start cardiac compressions 30 times.
>Give two breaths of air while holding the chin upards and backwards.
>Check for the chest movements. If no chest movements then start then start the cycle again.
This is called CAB i.e circulation, airway, breathing.
You feel good when you save someone's life..Hope this article helps you some time.

"The struggle alone pleases us, not the victory"

"Afridi could not win the Worldcup. But in these 30 days he converted the country into a united nation"
(Ramiz Raja)

People living in this materialistic world believe that results are necessary to prove yourselves. No one would believe when the performer says "I tried my best but could not reach upto the mark".Everyone wants first position.Below first postion and you won't be recognised and you won't be valued. But there are some people like our beloved Pakistani nation who still support their national cricket team inspite of the defeat Pakistan faced against its everlasting enemy India in the ICC cricket world cup 2011 semi final held on 30th march 2011 in Mohali, India. It was the most awaited match of the series, with the tickets being sold at the highest prices. The 'forever rival nations',India and Pakistan were busy in the preparations for the match since 10 days as if a national day was about to be celebrated.Youth all over Pakistan were confident of their victory.Same was the case with India. From Karachi to Gilgit, prayers were held in mosques for the victory of Pakistan in the big match. In Mohali the national team bowed infront of their Allah in the Mohali stadium before the match at the prayers time.

In India the Hindus bowed infront of their bhagwans praying for their side victory. The cricket match had turned into a war like situation because both nations love their egos. However situaion was different for the Indians and Pakistanis living abroad. Normally when it comes to the Indians and the Pakistanis, they are like the two repelling poles of a magnet..But when it comes to Indians and Pakistanis living in UK, USA, etc, the situation is opposite..They live together peacefully and get united to represent their Asian identity. These foreigner South Asians had arranged big screens at public places in the big cities of the wetern countries so that they could sit and watch the match together and enjoy together and then celebrate together.A public holiday was announced all over Pakistan and India on the big day so that people sit at home glued to their television and support and pray for their team.Youngsters allover India and Pakistan had arranged get together parties to watch the match together and have fun...Mohali stadium was over packed with the audience...It was quite disappointing for me when i switched on to the news channel and saw that there was only 20% Pakistani supporters in the stadium..."Doesn't matter" was my thought. It was the home ground of Indians and they had better and easy access to it than the Pakistanis.Celebrities were there to watch the match...From India there were the famous and brilliant bollywood actors Amir Khan and Imran Khan, politicians Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi to support their team

Well thats not finished..from Pakistan we had our lively Chacha jee, the biggest fan of Pakistan cricket team who is always there in every cricket match of Pakistan, be the match in UAE or India or England or anywhere...Chacha jee is always there to cheer his team and the pakistani audience is always found to be surrounding him...A very old man, yet supports his team like a teenager.

Not to forget...the Indian prime minister Manmohan Singh had specially invited Pakistan prime minister Yousuf Raza Gilani to Mohali to watch and enjoy the match with him..This added a political tinge to the cricke match.

With so much protocol, cheers, supporters, viewers, one could imagine how important the match was for both the countries. It was the only match of the world cup tournament which I watched from the very beginning; from the toss till the after match presentation and ceremony. The match started with the crowd applausing. Pakistan bowlers performed amazingly well in the Mohali battle. However the man who owned the credit of leading the team to the semi final, Pakistan's fast bowler Umar Gul had a bad luck that day. No one could understand why Pakistan's F-16 could not take a single wicket in the entire match. The pitch was not at all suitable for him.

Inspite of all this, the Indian batsmen played under immence pressure. The Mohali stadium was like a pressure cooker with the Indian crowd boiling inside it and the pressure was all created by the Pakistani bowlers.Wahab Riaz is one name which should be written in gloden letters on the board of Pakistani bowlers. He was able to achieve 5 wickets in the match.

However when it was Pakistan's turn to bat, Pakistani supporters turned hopeless.Pakistan's young and not so experienced Kamran Akmal, Umar Akmal could not compete with the bating performance of the Indian batsmen Sehwag, Gambhir, Tendulkar, Dhoni and Yuvraj who were highly experienced and trained. And those amongst the Pakistani batsmen, who ere experience in playing against India, Misbah Ul Haq and Younus Khan thought that it was not their responsibility to lead Pakistan to the victory path. Misbah wasted almost 5 overs. Younus did the same. Afridi is an exceptional case.He is an unpredictable batsman, likes to strike aggressively and if the luck is with him  then the ball goes in the air and into the audience and the umpire announces a SIX..But if the luck is not with him then the ball goes in the air and in the hands of the fielder and the umpire anounces out.

What happened with Afridi in the Mohali match is the second case.He couldn't make many runs for his team. Due to this poor bating Pakistan could not enjoy the taste of victory...victory which the Pakistani bowlers had made possible for the team.Pakistani supporters were badly disappointed due to the defeat. It was a big match for them and everyone had expected a lot from the team. But inspite of all the despair, inspite of the idiotic bating from Misbah and Younus and the poor fielding by the wicket keeper Kamran Akmal, the Pakistani supporters did not complain a bit. Because they had seen their team work hard throughout the tournament and reach the semi final. They had witnessed their team winning against the world champions Australia in the quarter final. Despite the loss Pakistani heroes, when returned home, were given a warm welcome by the nation with the words

"Be you the winners or the loosers, we will always love you"

No one had expected Pakistan to reach even the quarter finals. But our team showed the entire world that Pakistani cricket is not recognised only by the word 'match fixing' but it is recognised by the dedicated players like Afridi, Umar Gul, Shoaib Akhtar, Saeed Ajmal and Wahab Riaz. And it was due to the hardwork of these players only that the Pakistani national anthem was sung in India's ground > the land where it is difficult for a Pakistani to survive.
Your love is always tested in hard situations because in easy conditions everyone can stand well just like everone can pass in an easy exam. How much you love your country is determined by your attitude towards your country when it gives you little and asks for more services from you. Someone has rightly said:

"Don't ask what your country has given you.Ask what you have given to your country"

And Pakistani nation proved itself and passed in hard exam. The nation stood united to support their team in the match against India and still stood united when the team lost and still more showed love to their team when the team returned back to their motherland because they knew that the team had worked hard and if they didn't win this time then it was not a big deal because there is always a next time and a next chance. Only with a little more hardwork the team can repeat the history of 1992 and bring the cricket world cup to Pakistan.

Only with good bowling Pakistan stands among the top 4 team in the worldcup 2011 tournament. A little more concentration and attention towards bating and fielding will make them the world champions because

"To the brave and faithful, nothing is impossible"

"Life would be a lot more easier if people make a habit of talking to each other instead of talking about each other"

A very usual experience for all of us...you turn your back and people start talking about you, criticizing you and backbiting. Even your bestest friend won't miss this chance and take it as their responsibility. Through my experience, I have learned not to respond to such idiotic comments passed at your back, whether such comments fit into your personality or not. The moment you react, people will call you immature. So here is what I do in such a condition...stay calm and peaceful as if nothing has happened. Don't get hyper otherwise people will tag you as indecent and immature.Keep your mouth shut but eyes and ears wide open. Observe closely what is going around you. Sort out the people who support you not only on face but also in your absence. Gather allies around you whom you trust and rely that they will defend you in every walk of life. Make friends who, not only, insulate you from the problems, hardships and wrongdoings but also give you a hand of support when you fall from the ups and downs of life and who act as shade in the tiring way of life. Don't get dishearted from them if at anytime you come to know that they use your friendship to fulfill their needs. After all man is selfish by nature. It is this evil feeling of selfishness only that allows us to make relations with other people. What to do with your 'anti' people?? Simply turn a deaf ear to them. You can never stop a mad dog from barking...If you try to do so, the dog will bite you and cause you harm. The best response is not to respond. The best patience is shown by a person when he hears something wrong about himself and still controls his temper. Let them try all their cunning plans. Let your enemy show you all his weapons. But never create your weapons stronger than your enemy's. Instead make your shields stronger. You are not supposed to initiate a war. But it is sensible to defend yourself when the enemy attacks. If you feel that you don't have enough time or material to build a powerful shield, don't worry. Your God is always there to defend you. But for that you should have a pure and sincere heart free from all streaks of evil.
"No matter how good your intentions are.The world will always judge you from your presentation. And no matter how poor your presentation is..God will always judge you from your intentions"

A Very Normal Day

It was just another usual day.I silently turned 22 yesterday.I usually don't have any desires to celebrate my birthday through parties and outings. There was no sign of any specialty in yesterday, yet it was a good day for me because I had the day all for myself. I was alone at home all morning and this is one of the best gifts I can have as I enjoy loneliness for no logical reason. There were many birthday wishes on my facebook wall and some on my mobile, but as compared to last year, few people had wished me this time. However some of these few people were those from whom I wasn't expecting any wishes and few close people from whom I was expecting did not wish. Here is a cute video sent to me by a very good friend of mine for my birthday:

Anyways, I usually don't mind about people not wishing me.Life is getting busier day by day.People have more on their mind than others' birthdays. Its only through social networks like facebook etc that we remember each other's birthdays otherwise atleast I don't remember such special dates. So, my morning past reading mails all containing birthday wishes.I did some experiments for my breakfast as I had plenty of time. Then spent some time watching movie and kept on changing the T.V channels since morning shows are the most boring programs from my perspective.Nothing interesting was being telecasted.Had some mind freshening after that (read a really interesting book about Islamic history).Somehow the afternoon also passed. Evening was the best part of the day when my baby (my younger sister...I call her my baby ;) ) gave me a cute little pink card which had this note on it:
Happy birthday to
Sweet
Innocent
Super
Talented
Extraordinary
Remarkable
My sister is the most playful, fun loving, careless, least organised person in our family. She lives in her own world.I was not expecting a greeting card from her ;) The day ended with an icecream. Concluding it...it was a good, simple, silent and a very normal day. It wasn't like a day people usually like to have on their birthdays but for me it was one of the bestest birthdays although there was no celebration, yet there were so many wishes and above all I had all my loving and caring family members around me on this important day of my life.

My Idea Of Friendship

Few things which I want in my friendships:
> Feeling of possession:A feeling required for strong friendships but often causing disasters in relationships. When I make friends, I want them to be fully mine...a very dangerous and harsh feeling in such a delicate relationship yet very important for a strong bond in friendship.
> Fair relationship: By fair relationship, I mean the give and take attitude. When I make friends, I give them all they want whole heartedly but I expect the return of what I have given them.Return here means full attention and full importance. My friend should be able to give me instantaneously what I want and whenever I want...hard rules I know but this is my idea of fair relationship...purely business type ;)
> Less friends: The less friends you make, the easier is your life, the less difficulties you face in selecting your best friend, the less collisions in ideas coming from different minds of different people, the more time you can give to your friends...but the selection of such a precise friends circle should be highly accurate to include the most reliable and sincere people.
This is my theory of friendship.
